RPBA, as a firm, was recognized by its peers as "Law Firm of the Year" in the "Tax Law" category in the 2023 and 2020 edition of the Best Lawyers directory. Ricardo da Palma Borges (RPBA's Managing Partner) has been praised by the same directory as a top lawyer in the "Tax Law" practice area and in the subcategory of "Tax Planning" since the inaugural edition in 2010. In 2017, RPBA's Managing Partner was also recognised by his peers as "Lawyer of the year in Tax Law". Ana Isabel Correia has also been recognised as a top lawyer in the "Tax Law" practice area and in the 2020's edition of this directory she was named "Lawyer of the year in Tax Law". Ana Rita Pereira has been distinguished as a top lawyer in the "Tax Law" practice area since the 2022 edition. RPBA, as a law firm, Ricardo da Palma Borges and Ana Rita Pereira, individually, were distinguished as "Recommended" in the 2025 edition of the Leaders League, for the "Tax Law" practice area.

RPBA, Ricardo da Palma Borges and Ana Rita Pereira had already been recognised in the 2024 and 2023 editions of Leaders League ranking for the practice areas of "Tax Law" and "Corporate Tax" as "Recommended" and "Highly Recommended", respectively. In the 2022 and 2021 editions, RPBA and Ricardo da Palma Borges were awarded the rank "Excellent" for "Corporate Tax". This nomination is made through questionnaires sent to peers and clients and, also, to other external entities of each jurisdiction. See the full list here.

In the individual nominations (tab "Practitioners"), Ricardo da Palma Borges (RPBA's managing partner) and Ana Rita Pereira (RPBA’s partner) were highlighted in the "Tax Controversy" practice area of World Tax guide as Highly Regarded, with the latter being highlighted as "Women in Tax Leader". Ana Isabel Correia (RPBA's partner) was highlighted in the "Tax Controversy" practice area and in the "General Corporate Tax" practice area as Highly Regarded, and Lisete Santos Rodrigues (RPBA's associate) was highlighted in the practice areas "Real Estate"and "General Corporate Tax" as Rising Star.
Some of RPBA's partners were also recognized in the 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018 and 2017 editions of the "Tax Controversy" practice area, which recognizes the leading tax dispute resolution lawyers and advisers and whose inclusion is based on nominations received from peers and clients, along with evidence of success in the past year.
RPBA, as a firm (tab "Rankings"), was ranked in "Tier 1" in the "Private Client" practice area (since 2022) and was distinguished in “Tier 2” in the rankings of "Tax Controversy" and "Indirect Tax" in World Tax guide. It has also already been ranked under Tier 2 in the 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019 and 2018 editions in the above-mentioned practice areas of World Tax. In the 2024 edition of the Legal 500: Europe, Middle East and Africa directory, in the "Tax" practice area, RPBA was ranked in Band 3, having been highlighted for the "undeniable quality of its lawyers" and “technical excellence” in the areas of tax litigation and structuring of corporate transactions.
The RPBA partners were also highlighted in this edition of the directory: Ricardo Palma Borges is recognized for routinely instructing banks, real estate companies and family businesses on a broad range of tax matters; Ana Isabel Correia has extensive experience in conducting tax arbitration and tax litigation proceedings; Ana Rita Pereira takes the lead on matters concerning real estate tax planning.
